ISPM 15

ISPM 15 is the internationally recognised standard prescribing the treament of wood for the international trade to help prevent the risks of pests and diseases which affect wood.  Transportation of these diseases spread amongst forests and between countries, and can cause serious problems.  All wood packaging is affected by the regulation (pallets, crates etc). Using conventional heat treatment methods, wood must be exposed to a minimum temperature of 56°C for at a minimum of 30 continuous minutes.  Once the treatment is finished, the wood is stamped with the below mark: XX - Represents the ISO two-letter country code 0000 - Represents the unique code assigned by the NPPO to the producer YY- Represents the  approved measure used to treat the wood.  HT = heat treated, MB = Methal bromide. More information can be found here on ISPM 15. Our heat treatment container solutions are all ISPM 15 compliant, in order to ensure that our products not only meet regulatory standards but are also helping to ensure sustainability in the way the timber industry operates preserving the forests for generations to come.
